Happy First Day!

It was a whirlwind morning, but everything went smoothly! The students were FANTASTIC!
We organized our material, labeled our folders and notebooks, completed a journal entry, introduced the new Spelling list, breezed through a Power Point presentation, and recieved the first two assignments!

We also played around a bit with Spelling City. You can find the link below. I encouraged the students to explore this at home, as next week it will be part of their weekly assignment.

The second assignment was writing a letter to me to introduce themselves. They were instructed to include things such as their likes/dislikes, sports they play, favorite authors/genres, and what they are looking forward to the most this year in fifth grade.
